Bursting with vibrant colourful fruits, the Carmen dress is made from vintage textured fabric printed with bold, fruit-laden vines. Full of life and character, it’s the kind of piece that will make you and anyone who sees you, smile!
Featuring an off-shoulder design with tie-up shoulder straps and hand cut and applied 3D fruit appliqué elements (exact fruits and positioning may vary for each piece). The bodice is fully lined in cotton and structured with steel boning and an internal waist stay belt for support and shape, fastening with a concealed rear zip.
The very full skirt is constructed with inverted box pleating, giving over 4.5 metres of glorious sweep, and includes large concealed side-seam pockets which are anchored at the waist.
Vintage fabric: exact composition unknown but it feels like a cotton barkcloth. It has beautiful texture. I have enough fabric to make just three more of these dresses – and once they’re gone, they won’t be repeated.
