From the Gold Label line of one-off creations – this striking dress is cut from a crisp red cotton adorned with an out-of-print tropical print, complete with golden drums, hibiscus flowers and tropical palms. This fabric has been in my stash for years, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.
The sculpted wing-bust bodice is highlighted with metallic gold piping, and structured with internal steel boning and a secure waist stay belt. Shirred side-back panels offer a flexible fit, and it fastens with a concealed rear zip. With adjustable shoulder straps and a removable hibiscus appliqué on the left side. The full gathered skirt features cleverly placed, waist-anchored pockets set slightly forward to preserve the sweep of the fabric
